Star Director's research on Pawan Kalyan

Not many know that director Vishnuvardhan's mother tongue is Telugu. He made few films in Tamil before making debut in Tollywood and therefore he is branded as a Tamil director. He surprised the audience and even few media persons by speaking in fluent Telugu at the audio launch of Panjaa.

Vishnuvardhan walked out of Tamil star Ajith's Billa 2 for Panjaa, just to prove his capabilities in Telugu cinema. Vishnu shot to fame in Kollywood with Billa and any director wouldn't have missed the golden opportunity of making a sequel to it. But Vishnu felt that it is the right point for him to test Telugu waters.

Vishnuvardhan simply didn't make his style film with Pawan Kalyan. Instead he did a research on Pawan Kalyan's image and watched all his previous films. He analyzed what works and what doesn't work on Pawan and written Panjaa story accordingly. He gave a brand new look to Pawan Kalyan, but didn't miss the core elements that fans expect from his films. Panjaa trailer speaks volumes about Vishnu's hard work put in to make this film. None of the directors that worked with Pawan in the recent past have done such an extensive research about him. Seems like Vishnu has a winner on hands.
